Dennis Spidel has been in the building business since 1982. Dennis is a four-year past president of BANI, past regional vice-president for IBA, past president for IBA and national director for NAHB. He has achieved his CGB, CGR, GMB, and CGGB professional designations. “All of our new-build homes are now Energy Star rated.” He has won numerous building awards through “Parade of Homes” and “Remodelers Showcases”, to offer the public a view of the special work that Dennis Spidel Custom Homes creates.

Janny O’Connell is a designer and builder with a background in custom cabinetry, including building and designing. Janny brings her award-winning talents to the project. Also a past president of BANI, a recipient of Indiana’s Remodeler of the Year and numerous design awards, Janny takes pride in the homes they create together. They work together side-by-side in all aspects of the projects, from start to finish

Dennis and Janny say working in a person’s home is very personal. As a result, the relationship they have with each customer is especially important. “When you are building someone’s home or remodeling the home they are living in, it is a very personal experience. We spend a great deal of quality time together, and we often remain friends with our clients after a home or project is completed.”

Building or remodeling a home is a highly emotional process. Dennis Spidel Custom Homes knows that there are natural highs and lows throughout the process. For the client, the planning process is a natural high point. It is so exciting to see the plans on paper, the materials and colors chosen, and seeing the construction start. A natural low follows until you can see the final materials being applied, knowing that move-in day is around the corner. It is common in any building project – whether it is DIY or contractor built – to encounter “bumps in the road”. Familiar with this natural emotional process, Dennis Spidel Custom Homes tries to prepare customers, as much as possible, for the journey through the building or remodeling project.
